Jayne is currently "owned" by two golden retrievers, Phoebe and Byrdie. It should be told that she has shared time with many various breeds/temperaments.
Some include Scarlett, an Irish setter, Rodi, an Afghan hound, Remi, a cocker spaniel, Cody, a greyhound mix, and even a blind and deaf Doc,
who was a west highland terrier.
All breeds combined created quite an arsenal of information and lessons through the years!
Jayne has spent almost 20 years as a bedside registered nurse. For Jayne, it was paramount to ensure trust
and compassion were in place not only to develop a rapport with each patient, but also to provide the highest level of care and
trust with families as they support their loved ones. She knew the impact such positive, heartfelt treatment would have on their recoveries.
These treasured, innate personality traits would prove to be critical later, as Jayne, unknowingly at the time, would transfer her natural
abilities to the world of dogs!
She transitioned away from the hospital before the start of the Covid pandemic to a work from home position
which would allow more time to spend with her beloved pup, Phoebe. Another perk?! The ability to welcome home baby Byrdie,
a second sweet golden retriever!!! Although training went great with Phoebe as she is as sweet as can be, it was Jayne's decision
to try a more "formal" approach to training with Byrdie.
The relationship with Jayne and Stephanie's Dog Training began! Jayne learned very quickly that the bond
between human and dog can be so much more with "formal" training. On the flip side,
I immediately noticed that Jayne exhibited a lot of natural training abilities. After all, the qualities to help heal humans
can go in many directions!
Jayne didn't stop at just one class. JAYNE TOOK ALL THE CLASSES! Jayne and Byrdie have earned their AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC)
along with their AKC Canine Good Citizen Advanced (CGCA). And, did I mention that Byrdie became a certified therapy dog before the age
of TWO?! Her accomplishments don't stop thereā¦I'm excited and proud to say she has completed our 12 month internship program and has
become an amazing instructor! (Not that I'm surprised!) When Jayne isn't in her home office, or providing therapeutic support to
patients with Byrdie, you can find her at the school training humans and their dogs!
Jayne, welcome to Stephanie's Dog Training! Krissy and I are so excited to have you as part of our "pack!"
